FINE CARVED COVERED JAR ON STAND. Late 19th century, China. Spinach colored stone with russet markings, throat carved with water leaves and with Ling Chih jump rings and elephant handles. Fitted lid similarly carved with an elephant finial. Body carved overall with facing archaic dragons above Tao Tieh masks. Vase fitted on a rosewood stand. SIZE: Vase: 14-3/4″ h. Overall. 16-1/4″ h. PROVENANCE: Ex. Eu Tong Sen/Jenny Eu Collection. CONDITION: Generally very good with original surfaces. Footrim of vase with shallow 1/2″ chip. Top rim with minor fleabites. 7-72966 (300-500)
