PAIR OF MODERN PAINTINGS, CHINA. Early 20th century. Both inscribed and inspired by Zhang Ji’s poem “Feng Qiao Ye Bo” (A Night Mooring By Maple Bridge). 1) Ink on silk, depicting an evening view of a landscape with river and pavilions. Signed “Zhengjiao,” with one seal. 2) Ink and color on silk, depicting day-time view of the same landscape. Inscribed, signed “Xigeng Lao Ren,” dated the third month in xinwei year (1931), with one seal. Both framed and glazed. SIZE: 1) 22″ x 18-1/2″ 2) 22″ x 21″. PROVENANCE: Ex. P.Y. Wang Collection.
