AMAZING SHEPARD HARDWARE CO. JONAH & THE WHALE BANK. One of the nicest all-original examples to come to market in many years. The figures within the boat, and the boat itself are stunning and the side panels, which usually succumb to flaking, particularly on the yellow are in absolutely fabulous condition. The gold lettering is bright and intact, as are the whale’s teeth, which are usually chipped because of the depositing of the coins. The whale’s back, which tends to receive the most handling likewise is outstanding. PROVENANCE: Massachusetts estate auction. SIZE: Base measures 10″ l.
