MARTIALLY MARKED COLT 1ST MODEL DRAGOON REVOLVER. Cal. 44 Perc. Usual configuration with 7-1/2” oct to round bbl, brass trigger guard and backstrap with 1-pc walnut grips and a tiny “U.S.” below Colt’s Patent on left side of frame. SN 3417. CONDITION: About very good, all matching except the wedge which is unnumbered. No original finish remains, having an overall even medium brown patina. The left side of bbl has several old cut marks. The cylinder retains 20-25% scene and the trigger guard about 25% thin original silverplate with the balance of the grip frame a light mustard patina. The left side of the frame, just below the frame screws has a small series of pits. Grips are sound and show moderate to heavy wear with no visible markings. Strong bright bore with scattered light pitting. 4-49137 JR271 (11,000-12,000)
