FINE DEEPLY CARVED IVORY JAR WITH COVER. 19th century, China. 4 character Cheng Hua mark on base. Surface carved in high relief with lotus flowers, floral scrolls, jui-i borders and lion mask jump rings. Central panels depicting figures in palace scenes. Fitted cover carved with dragons and pearls, and with three figures in a pine grove beneath a fantastic scholar’s stone. Fitted with a wood stand. SIZE: Jar: 21″ h. CONDITION: Generally very good with nice color and patina and with normal and expected age lines. Stand with some damages. 7-70041 (1,500-2,500)
