IDENTIFIED STARR CIVIL WAR CARBINE. Cal .54. 21” round bbl. Standard markings on bbl and lock. A brass tag attached to the saddle ring states that this gun was issued to Henry Tilley of Company K 3rd Arkansas Cavalry, a Northern Unit. The returns from the 3rd Arkansas Cavalry dated may 29, 1865 show that this was one of four Starr carbines in the regiment. It was issued to Henry Hilley. The other 20 carbines in the regiment were probably also Starrs but they were not identified except by serial numbers. SN10282. CONDITION: Gray brown patina with spots of surface rust and light to moderate pitting. Wood has normal handling marks. Action is good, bore lightly pitted. 4-49567 FS112 (2,000-3,000)
