SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1842 MUSKET. Cal .69. 42” round bbl. Dated 1855 on the tail of the lockplate and 1854 on the tang of the breech plug. The outline of the cartouche is visible but not letters are showing. NSN. CONDITION: Metal except lockplate has been cleaned to bright with some light pitting remaining at the breech and on the buttplate and trigger guard. Wood has been cleaned but not sanded and numerous small dents and scratches remain. Mechanically good. 4-49783 FS46 (1,000-1,500)
