FABULOUS ANTIQUE INTERCHANGEABLE SWISS MUSIC BOX WITH 7 CYLINDERS. The large case with burled mahogany veneer and string inlay and ebony trim. The accompanying rosewood lift-lid storage case contains five cylinders and a large dovetailed drawer includes an additional cylinder and room for two more. Each 16″ cylinder plays eight tunes and the interior lid of the box has original music card with the various tunes on each cylinder. Primarily brass mechanism fitted with eight bells and four colorfully painted figural Mandarin bell ringers. The mechanism is protected by a glass lid. The heavy mainspring has Maltese stop works that would protect from over-winding. SIZE: Music box measures 33 1/2″ l. x 14″ d. x 11 3/4″ h., storage box measures 27″ w. x 13 ¾” d. x 8″ h. CONDITION: The mechanism and bells are fine with strong resonant sound. The case is in generally good condition with some fading to veneer and some minor imperfections. An outstanding box.
