CHINESE EXPORT CANTON RETICULATED CHESTNUT BASKET. 19th century, China. Oval basket with foliate handles centering a watered landscape. Canted sides reticulated, all within cloud and rain border. SIZE: 5″ h x 9-1/2″ l. PROVENANCE: Property of Mary and Franklin Dexter of Boston, Massachusetts. Acquired while on a round the world tour in 1891 on the P&O Steamship Line. CONDITION: Small fleck at top of one leaf handle, otherwise very good. 9-25550 (400-600)
