PAIR OF TINY ENGLISH SCREW BARREL PISTOLS. Cal .32 Perc. Fine early English percussion pistols with 1-1/2” tapered rifled bbls with cannon muzzles and decorative turnings. They are 5-1/2” overall length with 1” tapered oct breeches and bag shaped engraved silver grips. The tiny receivers, top straps and bottom straps are iron with the side of the receiver, top strap and top three flats of bbls lightly engraved. The grips are very nicely engraved with widely spaced foliate arabesque patterns and a series of engraved circles up the backstrap terminating in a demonic face at the back of the top tang. The bottom right flat of the breech is engraved in script “London”. The frames have internal sliding hammer safeties. This brace of tiny pistols is accompanied by their original L-shaped turned bbl wrench. CONDITION: Very fine. The iron is a light silver metal color with fine pitting near the nipples on one pistol and heavier on the other. One hammer screw is battered and neither safety functions properly. The grips are very fine with a small dent in one, otherwise they show light wear and handling. The bores are strong and dark. Mechanics are fine except for the safeties. 4-49139 JR456 (3,250-4,250)
