STERLING SILVER INCENSE BURNER BY MAPPIN & WEBB WITH SEAL OF OMAN. Sheffield, 1963. The saucer-based burner having an ivory heat-collar leading to a turned stem holding an egg-shaped canister with mid-hinged cover held by two small chains. The cover having pierced decoration. The base having a removable copper insert. The outside adorned with a red Seal of Oman medallion. The base marked with hallmarks and “Mappin & Webb Ltd. London & Sheffield.” Weight w/out copper lining: 15.5 troy oz. SIZE: 6-1/2″ high x 5-1/2″ PROVENANCE: Descended in the Oldman family. CONDITION: Very good. Shows some use. 9-25265 (200-400)
