The piece hallmarked “LONDON 18K”. 18k White Gold Large 6-pointed Star with White Enameling and having a central ring of green translucent enameling with writing around a ring of diamonds around a central medallion. The diamond circle having 41 diamonds of graduated size. Each star point separated by a crescent moon and terminating in a pearl. Hallmarked “LONDON 18k” with date mark “q” (1971). Total weight is 128 grams (4.1 tr. oz). Measures 3-3/4″ x 3-1/4″. 18k White Gold Large 6-Pointed Star Outlined with approximately 229 Full-Cut Diamonds having White Enameling and a central ring of green translucent enameling with writing around a ring of diamonds around a central medallion. The diamond circle having 41 diamonds of graduated size. Each star point separated by a crescent moon and terminating in a pearl. Hallmarked “LONDON 18k” with date mark “q” (1971). Total weight is 132 grams (4.2 tr. oz.). Total diamonds 270. Measures 3-3/4″ x 3-1/4″. 18k White Gold 6-Pointed Star having White Enameling and a central Red Ring around an oval of translucent green enamel with a central silver crescent moon. The star tips ending in silver beads. Hallmarked “LONDON 18k” with date mark “q” (1971). Total weight of 52 grams (1.6 tr. oz). Measures 2-1/2″ x 2″. Other items in this lot include; a framed 5″ x 3″ color photograph of Hugh Oldman in military dress, a 6″ x 5″ photograph of the Queen of England presenting awards to the regiment which Hugh Oldman was present, June 1962, two commemorative plates, the first a 1917-1977 “The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire Diamond Jubilee”, the second a similar plate “HRH The Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh Grand Master of the Order of the British Empire Silver Jubilee”. Three framed documents; 1)Appointment to the rank of Lieutenant, July 1945 stamped George VI, 2)Framed certificate appointing Hugh to be an Ordinary Officer of the Military Division of Our Said Most Excellent Order of the British Empire signed by Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip as Grand Master, 3)Certificate appointing Hugh to be an Ordinary Knight Commander of the Civil Division of Our Said Most Excellent Order of the British Empire signed by Elizabeth II and Prince Philip as Grand Master. Also a booklet “Statues of the Most Excellent of the British Empire.” Outstanding large oil on canvas full portrait showing Colonel Oldman in his full military dress uniform by Rosemarie Timmis (20th/21st century). The black jacket having a number of earned medals including Orders of Oman, one of which hangs from a long 18kt gold chain, a Knight’s Cross, service medals, Order of Oman badge on sash (all of which are included in this auction). He holds a dress sword at side. Signed lower left “Rosemarie Timmis 1974″. Housed in a magnificent wide carved gilt wood frame. The artist is known for important commissions including His Majesty The Sultan of Oman, Lord Butler of Brockwell KG GCB CVO and Lord Guthrie of Craigiebank GCB LVO OBE. On her website is also mentioned her commission of Colonel Sir Hugh & Lady Oldman.Sight Size: 46″ x 26-1/2”. Signed print of the “Presentation of Colours by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother to the 2nd & 3rd Battalions The Light Infantry and The Light Infantry Volunteers in Colchester 7th May 1971” by Terence Cuneo (British, 1907-1996). Signed lower right and dated. The print shows Sir Hugh Oldman presenting the Light Infantry in a parade grounds with the Queen looking on. Housed in a wood frame with matte. Sight Size: 16” x 23”. Pencil signed & titled print depicting a polo match between two rival brigades by Lionel Dalhousie Robertson Edwards (American/English, 1878-1966). The lead rider approaching a ball is a depiction of Sir Hugh Oldman. The scene is a flat grassy plain under blue & white cloud sky. The painting executed in 1938 by Lionel Edwards.
