EMILE ALBERT GRUPPE (American, 1896-1978) “MORNING AT GLOUCESTER”. Fine oil on canvas Gloucester Harbor scene shows a two-mast schooner moored to wharf with building. A smaller boat is beside with two men working. Signed lower right “Emile A. Gruppe”. Housed in its original silver gilt carved wood frame which is marked on the back “Purchased from artist A. Gruppe at East Gloucester July 1941” and “Morning at Gloucester”. PROVENANCE: A private Pennsylvania Collection. SIZE: 20” x 24”. CONDITION: Very good to excellent. 9-72655 (9,000-12,000)
