CUSTER RANGE SPRINGFIELD TRAPDOOR CARBINE. Cal .45-70. 22” round bbl. The stock has been sanded removing the cartouche. Retains original long grip stock, stepped rear sight and high arch breech block. Serial numbers below 40,000 are generally considered to be Custer era carbines but no issue records exist on the guns that went to the 7th Cavalry. SN 16766. CONDITION: Brown patina with light surface rust and pitting overall with some hints of blue in protected places. Stock has been heavily sanded. Action is fine. 4-50127 FS155 (4,500-7,000)
