SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1884 TRAPDOOR CARBINE. Cal 45-70. 22” round bbl. “SWP” cartouche is dated 1882. The low arch breech block is dated 1873 but it has all of the 1884 alterations. The cleaning rod is under the trapdoor in the buttplate. SN 208892*. CONDITION: Gray brown patina with light to moderate pitting. Wood has numerous dents and scratches and has a coat of varnish but does not appear to have been sanded. Action is fine, bore is lightly pitted. 4-49579 X31 (750-1,500)
