SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1884 TRAPDOOR RIFLE. Cal. 45-70. Standard rifle with 32-5/8” round bbl, two bands with blade front sight and Buffington rear sight. It has stacking swivel and sling swivels with 2-pc trigger guard. It has case colored breech block and tang. The stock has a crisp “SWP” cartouche dated 1886. The smooth musket style buttplate is without a trap. Accompanied by a brown cloth sleeve. SN 339063. CONDITION: Crisp and new, appears unfired, retains virtually all its original arsenal finish to both metal and wood. The case colors to the breech block and tang are brilliant. Wood is crisp and clean and as new as one could want. Brilliant shiny bore. The sleeve is very worn. 4-49231 JR98 (2,000-3,000)
