GWYN & CAMPBELL CARBINE. Cal .52. 20” part oct bbl. Marked “GWYN & CAMPBELL” in an arc over “PATENT / 1862 / HAMILTON O” on the right side of the lockplate and “UNION / RIFLE” on the right side of the receiver. In addition to the serial number an issue or batch number “33” has been stamped on the bottom of bbl and frame. “S.A.” cartouche is stamped on the left side of the stock. SN 4134. CONDITION: Rust brown patina overall with moderate to heavy pitting at the rear of bbl, action and buttplate. Wood has been lightly cleaned and reoiled. Action is good. 4-49566 X15 (1,000-1,500)
