TOTALLY ORIGINAL CLOSED MOUTH TETE JUMEAU BEBE. 18-1/2” (46 cm), with head stamped in back “ DEPOSE TETE JUMEAU Bte S.G.D.G. 8” on fully articulated body stamped in blue “JUMEAU MEDAILLE D’or Paris”. This amazingly original child wears an elaborate costume consisting of pleated maroon brocade panels interspersed with pale green silk and light green lace. Has original BEBE JUMEAU arm band on costume. Blonde mohair wig over cork pate is in full condition. The pale green silk shoes are stamped in gold on soles “BEBE JUMEAU 1878 Paris 8”. The original bonnet is matching silk green ribbon. Also has original red single bead earrings. CONDITION: Negligible kiln dust specks on face, body finish original. Slight deterioration to silk green shoes and to one panel on skirt. Outstanding doll. 1-4995 RS (6,000-7,500)
