PATRIOTIC KEY-WOUND AUTOMATON. This captivating toy with 2 bisque figures portraying Uncle Sam and Miss Liberty standing beneath a red and white canopy adorned with white leather flowers is of 1920s German vintage. The figures hold American flags and are dressed in patriotic costumes. Together with the wooden paper covered base with red, white and blue ribbons, it makes a perfect display for any patriotic occasion. When cranked counter clockwise, music box plays “Sur le Pont de Avignon” and the figures swivel forward and slowly turn to their right in a little dance. Provenance: Atlanta Toy Museum. SIZE: Approximately 11″ l. x 7″ d. x 12″ h.
