EMILE ALBERT GRUPPE (American, 1896-1978) “THE LAST OF THE SNOW”. Oil on canvas early spring scene shows small water run off through hill with mountains in background. Probably a Vermont or New Hampshire scene. Small patches of snow are seen in amber hillside with purple and blue wooded hills. Housed in a carved, antiqued wood frame with white linen liner. Signed lower right “Emile A. Gruppe”. Frame has title and name plaque. SIZE: 16” x 20-1/4”. CONDITION: Canvas has wax backing. Very good. 9-94065 (5,000-7,000)
