NEW ENGLAND MAPLE AND BIRCH BELL AND BALL BED. 2nd Quarter 19th Century. The posts, baluster-and-ring turned surmounted by an acorn finial above a foliate carved bell-form turning. Centering a solid panel with scrolled ears on the headboard. The headboard and footboard joined by the original bed rails. SIZE: 44-1/2″h x 60-1/2″w (overall)/54″w (interior) x 80-1/2″l (overall)/74″l (interior). PROVENANCE: Woolworth Collection (F.W. Woolworth Dept. Store). CONDITION: All original, the bed has been professionally stripped and refinished. 9-21271 (100-200)
