W&T AVERY, CLASS 3, BRASS AND CAST-IRON BALANCE SCALE. First third 20th century. Brass balance arm in its original mount within an ornate cast iron frame joined to a brass columnar support on a footed cast iron base. The original tray and brass frame suspended from one arm. The opposing arm suspended with a circular brass weight tray. Each extremity of balance arm stamped “W&T. AVERY LD./MAKERS/BIRMINGHAM”. Scale is offered with a complement of 7 original marked Avery Limited weights ranging from 10lb down to 4oz. SIZE: 34″ h, 19-3/4″ l of arm. CONDITION: Very good original condition. Clean and functional. No damages noted. 9-20553 (600-900)
