CARVED MODEL OF THE ORIGINAL “FLYING CLOUD”. First half 20th century. This carved wooden example has 3 masts. A square rigged ship with deck houses and planked deck. A black hull with white masts and spars, rendered without sails, the stern board is painted with the name “FLYING CLOUD”. Displayed with a burgee and an American flag. Mounted on a cradle. No case. SIZE: 25-1/2″ h x 36″ l. PROVENANCE: De-accessioned from a New England Institution. CONDITION: Very good overall. In need of minor restoration. Bottom paint with craquelure. Lower boom at stern in need of repair. 9-20532 (400-600)
