JOSLYN CIVIL WAR CARBINE. Cal. 54 perc. Standard Joslyn carbine with 21-1/4” round bbl, pinched blade front sight, three leaf rear sight, iron mounted with 1-pc walnut stock that has a sling bar and ring on the left side. There are two good cartouches just above the sling bar and US on the buttplate tang. There is a 1” arrowhead lightly carved near the right toe. SN 7774. CONDITION: Good to very good, all matching. The iron retains an even dark brown patina with light surface rust on bbl, some light pitting on the sling bar and lock plate, heavier on the trigger guard. The stock has a replaced sliver in back of the top tang, which is missing the tang screw. The buttstock is slightly battered with some chipping to the comb and myriad small nicks and scratches. Strong bore with some good shine and scattered deep pitting. 4-50034 JR225 (2,500-3,500)
