TWO JACQUARD COVERLETS. 19th century, American. The first, a blue and white summer/winter coverlet with snowflake and pine tree border fringed on three sides. Note: For similar example see America’s Quilts and Coverlets by Carleton L. Safford and Robert Bishop, page 232. The second, a summer/winter coverlet in red, wheat and blue designed with tulip, leaf and star and flower pot design within a floral and star border. SIZE: First: 88″ x 75″. Second: 86″ x 73″. PROVENANCE: Private Collection, New York City. CONDITION: Generally good. 9-25816 (400-600)
