LARGE AMERICAN CARVED PINE TRADE SIGN. Early 20th Century, New York. This rectangular example painted green with gold letters, “FAMILY GROCER”. Single-sided and applied with a simple conforming boarder. SIZE: 25″h x 8’4″l (overall). PROVENANCE: Removed from the site of the store at which the sign was originally displayed at 192nd Street and Union Turnpike, Queens, New York City in 1953. CONDITION: Well maintained and in very good structural condition. Painted surfaces also very good. 9-21243 (2,200-2,600)
