SMITH CIVIL WAR CARBINE. Cal .52. 21-1/2” part oct bbl. Made by American Machine Works. Standard markings on the left side of the action. “JH” cartouche on the left side of the stock is getting very thin. SN 8336. CONDITION: 50% blue on bbl mixed with moderate surface rust. Bbl band is a gray brown patina. Action retains about half of the bright casehardening colors on the sides, mostly faded on the top, bottom and hammer. Buttstock has been broken at the wrist but not yet repaired. 4-49874 FS34 (1,200-2,200)
