CHELSEA TYPE CHROME PLATED BRASS SHIP’S CLOCK. First quarter 20th century. The charcoal gray dial with Arabic numeral chapter ring, sweep seconds hand and time only aperture centering “CARL F. WOODS” engraved in the dial who we believe was the foundry that manufactured ship’s clock cases. The circular case mounted in a mahogany frame. On inspection, the brass movement is unmarked with either name of manufacturer or serial number. SIZE: 8-1/2″ h x 17″ l of base x 4-3/4″ d, 6-7/8″ dia of clock case. PROVENANCE: Estate of Nancy H. Woods, Boothbay, Maine. CONDITION: Very good overall. Movement appears clean and operational. Mahogany base retains original finish. 9-20932 (300-500)
