MODEL OF THE STEAM SHIP SLOOP-OF-WAR “USS BROOKLYN”. First half 20th century. A good 3-masted square rigged model without sails rendered showing the original complement of a 10″ gun mounted on the foredeck and twenty 9″ guns. The name “BROOKLYN” painted on the stern above a stern board depicting a displayed eagle. Mounted on a wooden cradle. No case. SIZE: 29″ h x 39″ l overall. PROVENANCE: De-accessioned from a New England Institution. CONDITION: Model in overall very good condition. Lower bowsprit in need of repair. Appears to have been painted more than one time. Painted surfaces are old. 9-20528 (400-600)
