MODEL OF THE 4-MASTED FULLY RIGGED SHIP “LANCING”. First half 20th century. This nicely carved wood model of the iron hull square rigged ship registered as the Lancing from 1888-1924 rendered here with black hull and white trim and with a full complement of sails. The stern mark,ed “LANCING/OSLO”. Sold with a partial case. SIZE: Model: 26″ h x 38″ l. Case base: 43″ l x 18″ w. PROVENANCE: De-accessioned from a New England Institution. CONDITION: Model overall in very good condition. Some rigging on port side in need of repair/replacement. The case is in need of complete rebuilding. Top and all glass panels are missing. 9-20527 (400-600)
