FOLK ART MODEL OF AN EARLY 3-MAST “CORVETTE”. Civil War era. The hand carved wooden model rendered with three masts and rigging but with no sails. Painted with a black and green hull, with yellow and white accents. A large fanciful tiger bust carved as the figurehead beneath the bowsprit. Mounted on a cradle with no case. SIZE: 31-1/2″ h overall x 37″ l. PROVENANCE: De-accessioned from a New England Institution. CONDITION: Structure and paint good overall. Old repair starboard side at foredeck between waterline and gunwhale. 9-20531 (400-600)
