FRANKFURT, GERMANY STATE FLAG. Circa 1914. Purportedly given as a gift to the captain of the Parma from the cadet crew training at the time. Two sided silk and gold thread banner with the words “DEREIN EHEM 80ER” above a cartouche embroidered with a scarlet crown and symbol on an indigo field. The opposing side with an imperial displayed eagle with gold and scarlet embroidered crowns at the corners. The borders with gold tassels, all on a beige silk ground. SIZE: 41″ x 44″.
