CHIPPENDALE STYLE MAHOGANY LOLLING CHAIR. First Half 20th Century. This benchmade example with rectangular overupholstered padded back with serpentine crest rail joined to shaped arms, continuing to down sloped fluted supports centering on trapezoidal upholstered seat, raised on fluted channeled square legs, the rear legs back-swept, all joined by an H-form block stretcher. SIZE: 41″ (height of back); 17″ (height of seat). PROVENANCE: Woolworth Collection (F.W. Woolworth Dept. Store). CONDITION: Structurally very good. The floral silk upholstery remains clean and useable. 9-21321 (800-1,200)
