SET OF 8 CLASSICAL REVIVAL CARVED MAHOGANY DINING CHAIRS. Circa 1900. Each with a serpentine interwoven crestrail with upturned rolled ears, the central open splat also interwoven centering a stylized wheat stalk. The trapezoidal seat frame, each fitted with a slipped seat. Raised on frontal cabriole legs with shaped returns terminating in bold talon and ball feet, the rear legs backswept. SIZE: 41″ h of back, 18″ h of seat. PROVENANCE: Estate of Nancy H. Woods, Boothbay, Maine. CONDITION: Chairs retain original surfaces with dark patina. Some minor craquelure.
