TWO AMERICAN ROCOCO WALNUT AND MAHOGANY GENTLEMAN’S CHAIRS. Third quarter 19th century. Larger example with pierced foliate crest above molded shield shape back joined to shaped open arms with molded hand grips, raised on frontal cabriole legs headed by floral buds, raised on brass capped casters. Second smaller example with scrolling foliate crest, molded shield shaped back continuing to shaped open arms with molded grips raised on frontal molded cabriole legs centering serpentine floral carved seat rail, raised on brass capped frontal casters. SIZE: First: 44-3/4″ h of back. Second: 39-1/2″ h of back. CONDITION: Both with original finish. Structurally very good. 9-25373 (200-300)
