CHIPPENDALE STYLE INLAID MAHOGANY WRITING TABLE WITH INSET LEATHER TOP. First half 19th Century. The rectangular top with applied molded edges inset with a burgundy tooled leather writing surface above the conforming frieze, fitted with a single cross banded cockbeaded long drawer over a single short drawers centering an arched knee hole, all with string inlaid and cross banded borders. Raised on square, tapering legs terminating in modified Marlborough feet. SIZE: 30-1/2″h x 41-1/2″w x 26-1/2″d. PROVENANCE: Woolworth Collection (F.W. Woolworth Dept. Store).
