RARE OLD HANOVER FIRE COMPANY PAPER SIGN. This early sign dates around 1860 to 1870, was chromo-lithographed by the New York firm of Major and Knatt. It has fabulous graphics particularly the figure Columbia with the red, white, and blue cap on pose and the figure Germania. The beautiful bright colors and graphics promote the company’s incredible cash assets of over $1 million dollars. Certainly no one can be concerned about the well-being of their insured valuables with a company boasting such an incredulous backlog of assets. SIZE: (Image only) approximately 18-1/2” w x approximately 23-3/4” h, size including beautiful mahogany colored frame 25” w x 31” h. CONDITION: Very good.
