EARLY AMERICAN NEW ENGLAND LADDERBACK ARMCHAIR. Second half 18th century. The back with four arched slats joined to sausage turned stiles headed by elongated ring turned finials continuing to shaped flattened arms and joined to sausage turned frontal legs centering a woven rush seat. The legs within a spindle double box stretcher. SIZE: 46-1/2″ h of back, 17″ h of seat. CONDITION: All four legs ended out 7″. Rush seat a replacement. Otherwise good. 9-20711 (400-600)
