SPRINGFIELD SECOND ALLIN CONVERSION RIFLE. Cal .50. 36-5/8” round bbl dated 1863 on tail of the lockplate and 1866 on the breech block. The cartouche on the left side of the stock is visible but not completely readable. NSN. CONDITION: Smooth gray patina on bbl, trigger guard and buttplate with some moderate pitting on the breech block latch. Bright casehardening on the lockplate but brown on the hammer. Wood has numerous dents and gouges but is still solid. A crack at the rear of the lockplate has been repaired. 4-49602 FS28 (700-1,200)
