EARLY AMERICAN SPONGE DECORATED BLANKET CHEST. First half 19th century. The rectangular hinged lid with applied molded edges opening to a storage well in the conforming case. The side panels with boot jack feet. The whole sponge decorated in green and shades of brown. SIZE: 24″ h x 35″ w x 17-1/2″ d. CONDITION: The decorated surfaces with areas of extensive wear on lid, damages to molding, and in areas of hinges. Hinges reset multiple times. 9-20703 (500-700)
