IMPORTANT CARVED AND PARQUETRY DRESSING MIRROR. Mid 19th century. The tombstone mirror plate within a bobbin surround within a sawtooth parquetry frame. The conforming crest carved with a central rose flanked by foliate sprigs suspended and tilting on a pair of faceted colonnettes with intricately carved pineapple finials joined to the rectangular base with canted corners and serpentine front centering a parquetry star within a diamond. All with sawtooth borders with contrasting inlays on a stepped plinth with ebonized molded base. SIZE: 32-1/2″ h x 29″ w x 14-1/4″ d. PROVENANCE: From the “Harp House” of Camden, Maine. CONDITION: With all original surfaces. Left side facing mirror frame with stress cracks in outer frame, now with filler. 9-26893 (400-800)
