CHIPPENDALE STYLE BENCHMADE TIGER AND FIGURAL MAPLE SLANT LID DESK. Mid 20th century. The rectangular dovetailed case with hinged sloping lid opening to an interior fitted with a central fan carved drawer flanked by a row of valanced pigeon holes over a row of serpentine blocked drawers stepped back above a pair of aligned stationery drawers above a long drawer flanked by lopers above three graduated long drawers, all with thumbmolded edges. The desk on a molded base raised on bracket feet with scalloped returns. SIZE: 39-1/2″ h x 34″ w of case, 17-1/2″ d. PROVENANCE: Estate of Nancy H. Woods, Boothbay, Maine.
