SET OF 8 CHIPPENDALE STYLE MAHOGANY CHAIRS BY PAINE FURNITURE CO. First quarter 20th century. Comprised of 6 side chairs and 2 armchairs. Each with serpentine crestrail centering a carved shell crest above pierced splats raised on frontal cabriole legs terminating in ball and claw feet, backswept rear legs joined by H-form stretcher. Each chair with trapezoidal slip seat cushion, each affixed with “Paine Furniture” label. SIZE: Armchair: 41″ h of back. Sidechair: 39″ h of back. 19″ h of seats. CONDITION: Very good overall with original surfaces. 9-25232 (1,000-2,000)
