SIX ANTIQUE FLY RODS. Lot includes: 1) 4-pc. bamboo, unmarked 8’4″ fly rod being a set of 3 with an extra tip, 2) 4-pc. 9′ Montague split-bamboo fly rod in orig tube, 3)4-pc. 9-1/2′ split-bamboo fly rod by Winchester, along with 2 steel rods and a bamboo Kingfisher trolling rod. PROVENANCE: From a fine southern Maine home. A signed letter from the family states that one of the rods was owned by Jack Hemingway, son of Ernest Hemingway. This fly rod was given to our consignor’s father by Jack as payment for a bad debt at Storm King, a boarding school in Cornwall on Hudson, New York. CONDITION: Wraps have deteriorated on some.
