TWO MEISSEN ALLEGORICAL FIGURES: DAY AND NIGHT. First quarter 20th century. The first figure as “Day”, with torch and draped in pink fabric. The second figure as “Night” draped in blue and crowned with a tiara of gold stars. Each figure mounted on a gilt decorated plinth. SIZE: 7-1/2″ h. PROVENANCE: From a prominent Southern Maine Collection. CONDITION: With damage to base of torch and small piece missing proper right side of drape at buttocks. 9-98715 (800-1,200)
