FORRESTVILLE MAHOGANY SHELF CLOCK. Mid 19th century, Bristol, Connecticut. Classical mahogany case of figured mahogany, the engaged three quarter columns centering a door with mirrored panel above the lower door fitted with eglomise panel raised on ball feet. The painted metal dial with Roman numeral chapter ring centering “Forrestville Manufacturing Co/Bristol, CT. U.S.A.” With 8 day time and strike brass movement. Original paper label affixed to back board includes the names “J.C. Brown, S.B. Smith and C. Goodrich”. Offered with weights, pendulum and winder. SIZE: 36-1/2″ h x 17-1/2″ w. CONDITION: Eglomise panel with paint loss. Paper label worn, but legible. Otherwise good. 9-26749 (600-800)
