GILTWOOD ONYX TOP SIDE TABLE ATTRIBUTED TO S. KARPEN BROS. Late 19th, early 20th century, Chicago. Fine square example with inset onyx top. Top with serpentine edges fitted to conforming frieze, each side carved with central sunflower flanked by scrolling leaf tips in Art Nouveau, Taste raised on molded tapering cabriole legs, each headed with carved flower head continuing to raised scrollwork terminating in molded outscrolled feet. Whole gilded. SIZE: 30-1/2″ h x 25″ x 25″ square. CONDITION: Table retains original gilt surfaces with minor losses to gilding overall. Inset onyx top repaired, overall good. 9-25702 (1,000-1,500)
