PAIR OF GILT BRONZE THREE LIGHT WALL SCONCES. Second half 19th century, possibly French. Each Neo-Classical sconce with a central fluted quiver of arrows surmounted by bow tied ribbon. The three candle arms cast as C- and S-scrolled foliate branches emanating grapes alternating with grape leaves, surmounted by candle cups in the form of urns. Each sconce fitted with strands of clear beads forming swags and chains additionally suspended with grape clusters and an arrangement of clear polished glass fruit such as apples and pears. Each sconce with mounting bracket. SIZE: 36″ h x 14-1/2″ w. PROVENANCE: From a fine southern Maine home. CONDITION: Each electrified. Original gilded surfaces with areas of corrosion and tarnishing notably at bow ties and grape clusters. Structurally very good. 9-25215 (3,000-5,000)
