FINE BELLE EPOQUE FIGURED MAHOGANY AND GILT METAL MOUNTED ARMOIRE. First quarter 20th century. This labeled French armoire, in three parts, each with a hinged door. The center arched section mounted with a beveled mirror plate within a gilt bronze surround, the apron mounted with a gilt cast brass classical plaque. The cornice carved with a molded guilloche frieze above the four pilasters each surmounted with carved scrolling gilt corbels trimmed with cast brass garlands. The case panels with contrasting string inlays. The interior fitted with drawers. The whole raised on scrolling and molded gilded feet mounted with cast floral returns. SIZE: 8′ h x 7′ 3″ w x 23″ d overall. CONDITION: With original surfaces and fittings, the cabinet in very good condition with rich colors, all metal mounts intact. 9-98044 (2,000-3,000)
