TRAVELING APOTHECARY IN WALNUT CASE. First quarter 19th century. The walnut case fitted with apothecary bottles designed for the traveling druggist. The rectangular case with hinged lid opening to an interior with multiple compartments to accommodate an arrangement of glass apothecary bottles of varying sizes. An additional lower drawer also fitted with compartments for jars, boxes and other supplies. The whole with campaign style brass fittings, strapping and carrying handles. SIZE: 10-1/4″ h x 21″ l x 12-3/4″ d. CONDITION: With old original surfaces and hardware. Shrinkage cracks at rear of lid. Damage to ring handle of drawer. Interior with original brown velvet liners. Retaining approximately 32 glass containers and some stoneware jars and with boxes of clinical microcovers for the preparation of glass slides. Overall good. 9-20982 (600-900)
